Saorsa 1875 is the UK’s first 100% vegan hotel. Set in the stunning landscape of Pitlochry in Perthshire, Scotland, it offers fine dining, luxurious rooms and delicious cocktails. Saorsa 1875 wanted to dispel the myths that plant-based living means going without, so ahead of their launch, they needed an inclusive new brand identity that inspired not exclusively vegans - but the ‘plant curious’ too.

The Project.
Based on the Scottish term ‘Coorie’ which means ‘to cuddle’ (similar to the Danish ‘Hygge’), we developed a brand positioning that represented the cosy interiors of the hotel, and the stunning countryside that surrounds it. Using typefaces that reflected its Victorian roots, we created a visual identity that paid homage to Saorsa 1875’s history, and supported it using contemporary accents. We also developed a palette of muted colours which aligned with the hotels interiors, and complemented it with beautiful photography of nature and still life.
The Outcome.
Following their launch earlier this year, Saorsa 1875 has been hugely successful - booked up months in advance by guests from around the world. To help them continue to grow, we’ve developed a 12-month communications strategy for them. They’ve had coverage across The Guardian, The Telegraph, Lonely Planet, the BBC and have recently been featured in The Sunday Times’ top 100 hotels. So one things for sure, we don’t see any signs of them slowing down.
